The information on this site covers mainly five families. My family tree started with Jan Smit who came to South Africa in 1688 from Delft in the Netherlands. My mother's family comes from Wilhelm Odendal who came to South Africa from Keulen in Germany in 1709. They are the two men who started the largest families of Smit and Odendaal in South Africa.
My wife's family is as follows: Her father's side is Liesker from Rotterdam in the Netherlands, her mother Brinkman from Delft in the Netherlands. Then there are also a number of entries on the Jutte family.
There are a lot of other family data and interesting stories and anecdotes that we would like to share. By doing this we will be able to buid up a more comprehensive set of data.
